Scholarship Program

FCS Financial 2009 Scholarship

FCS Financial will award up to 35 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to eligible Missouri high school seniors to encourage and support higher education for relatives of FCS Financial customers. Since its inception in 2004, FCS Financial has awarded more than 150 scholarships.

Qualifications: 
Applicants must meet the following qualifications in order to be considered for an FCS Financial Scholarship:

  1. Applicant must be a Missouri high school senior and must have been a full-time student the previous year.
  2. Applicant must be a relative (child or grandchild) of an FCS Financial customer in good standing.
  3. Applicant must designate which office services the account.  One qualified recipient will be selected from each branch office. An additional six at-large recipients will be selected from all eligible, qualified applications. (Applicants may submit only one application.)
  4. Applicant must plan to attend a two-year or four-year college or university. Preference will be given to those attending a Missouri college or university and to those who choose to study an ag-related field.
  5. Applicant must attain satisfactory academic progress evidenced as follows:
    • Rank in the upper 20 percent of your high school graduating class; or 
    • Attain a 2.5 or higher grade point average based on a minimum of seven semesters; or 
    • Score 26 or higher on the ACT.
  6. Applicant must demonstrate participation and leadership in school and community activities.
  7. Applicant must enroll for a minimum of 12 credit hours.
  8. Relatives (children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews) of FCS Financial board members and employees are not eligible to receive a scholarship.
  9. Students who receive a full-ride scholarship will not be eligible for the FCS Financial scholarship, and it will be awarded to another student. 

How to Apply

  1. Complete online and the print two copies of your application. Save one copy for your files.
  2. Applicant and parents/guardians must sign and date the information and photograph use authorization.
  3. Submit entire application to high school principal or guidance counselor to complete academic achievement section.
  4. The applicant’s high school principal or guidance counselor must return applications to FCS Financial marketing office by March 1, 2009. Applications postmarked later than March 1, 2009, and received later than March 8, 2009, will not be accepted for consideration. Applications may be returned by U.S. Mail, overnight delivery, e-mail or facsimile.
  5. Applications will be reviewed by the FCS Financial Scholarship Committee in March 2009. Recipients will be notified by mail on or before April 15, 2009.
